Scrum Vibes - Gala Edition, OWK May 2024
Scrum Vibers brought Outside with Kindness out to Atlanta during the annual Scrum Vibes Gala weekend! On Saturday morning of this Memorial Day Celebration at 9:30 am, about 30 Scrum Vibers assembled in the parking lot of the Courtland Grand and we took a stroll covering the 2-block radius surrounding the Courtland Hotel in Downtown Atlanta. We had sanitary packets, Jamaican Beef Patties, and popsicles to give out but this time the kindness was not limited to the homeless. Everyone we encountered could receive a food item. The fact that Scrum Vibers from different parts of the world were able to participate in OWK together in one location was beautiful!

My very first outside with kindness experience at the Gala was simply inspiring. As a resident of the city of Atlanta I’ve always had a desire to be a part of a meaningful charitable community; OWK was that opportunity realized. Coach J and the community of Scrum Vibers were so simple about their mandate of kindness, spreading cheer and positivity along the way. The charge that day was to express kindness and give to anyone, not just the homeless. I am certain the recipients were appreciative. I am grateful for the lesson and the experience. OWK was deeply fulfilling, I look forward to the next opportunity with so much enthusiasm. #weareoutside

Taking part in the SVG OWK event in Atlanta was a great experience, allowing me to participate alongside other Scrum Vibes professionals. Being outdoors with such kind people made me realize that giving back doesn’t need to be highly structured or expensive. Seeing the smiles and appreciation on people’s faces confirmed the value of always being kind to one another. While the rain threatened it did not deter nor stop us and like we say always in this community, we outside #italawa

Joining Outside with Kindness is always a very rewarding experience. Every item that we give sends a message of compassion and humanity to those who need it the most. It is humbling to see how a simple act of kindness can make such a significant difference in someone’s day. Sharing a meal can go beyond nourishment; it can also foster a sense of dignity and human connection that is sometimes missing from people’s lives. Coming together with other Scrum Vibers to impart these gifts also fosters a great sense of community. As a community, I know that we are profoundly impacted by showing the true value of giving.
